Sager NP3790 Review - Page 17

a13anti: Honestly, that's why I didn't become too much 'enthusiastic' about this notebook before. To be fair enough, I'm now more to buy the 3790 (12-cell) than the CL56...

maya: maybe it's better to view demos... because everyone plays different... so, different overall FPSes...

Not a problem for me (12-cell) tough... and the built-in camera, widescreen are good things, aren't they?

Widescreen is awesome. Being able to type two pages at the same time in word is impressive. I dunno if that can be accomplished with a 15.4" screen but the widescreen has other benefits as well.

Try dual monitors then, that's what your Radeon is for Much more effective than tiling two documents on the one screen..

I think you're missing the point. You could say that about any laptop component. We're here to compare laptops to laptops.

I plan on it.

heh... the distinction between laptop and desktop (replacement) must be getting smaller... i would assume most of the time most people would get a p-m machine to carry it around... which means they won't be carrying another monitor so they can have more desktop real estate!!!

My laptop is a dtr after all. I need it for heavy rendering and even more intense gaming.

Same goes for docking bay. You add your second monitor when you're at home & want increased productivity.. detach it & wander around for mobility.

no doubt, you're right. that was just referring to my specific situation.

how long would you say the 6-cell in your 3790 gets just surfing in max batt conditions?

I'm nearly litterally crying with tears now.... I just typed up a 20 min long post with full of opinions and infos..... then some idiot Instant Message me... this system just refreshed the page and poof.... there goes my post... So I'll just have to settle w/ what I can remember...

I would like to know if the default back cover of the LCD "glossy" like the blue painted one or not.

Also, I'd like to see Fraps with DOOM3 on the 3790 with screen shots.

I would also like to add that I had read EVERY SINGLE post in this LONG thread.

PS. I'm on my bro's CRAPPY x100 Compaq Presario 450mhz... ->_<- My gaming system is at my summer job company... AutoCAD stuff...

The back cover is mildly glossy under the right lighting. I updated the first post with a Doom3 benchmark.

39 fps, not too shabby.

Thank god you guys stopped posting. I was reading page 9 when the last page was page 18... when I was reading page 10, it was at 23. I was expecting page 40 by the time I get here, but, guess not...

What did you expect??? It's the 3790 review!

- Did anyone already tested the cards slots? I've read sometime ago that the CL56 was slow...
Is it safe to say the 3790 will have 3+hours of bat. when web surfing and word processing?
And they killed the countdown thread, so all questions were routed here.
