Sager NP3790 Review - Page 5

heh, i was about to preorder this laptop but now i'm glad i waited for a review

i dunno about the feet. what did he say, 6 more feet on the bottom? i would mainly use my laptop... uhh.. on my lap. =D i think the feet would be kind of annoying? just the way it looks from pictures, mebbe im wrong.

the 1.8'' in the back has me stumped also, i thought it was thinner. doh.

given that the cl56 is .34-.54'' thinner, and lighter, and cheaper, well damn, mebbe thats the way to go, just for me anyway. there's always the added benefit of the CTRL key in the right place, too. mebbe i could deal with the screen, i hate people on airplanes reading my screen anyway hehe

I have a feeling that the height is including the feet. The body itself is probably considerably thinner. As far as the design flaw--that's what that one review of an older Clevo version of this lappy ripped them on...It's posted somewhere around here.

what I really want to know is...

How much better than the Dell I8600 it is... I really like the 4hrs out of that machine
I just dont want to have buyers remorse. after seeing the pix of the 12cell, i'd rather have the 6, but i'd like to have more than 2.20hrs

I wish the extra batteries were cheaper

well... too bad... not every good laptop is a good fit for everyone
i too, think that the 1.8" includes the feet, which is about .4" (3/8") thick... making the actual lappy quite thin
to me... the feet are perfect for ventilation, but obviously not everyone feels this way
post #85 of 360
i wonder if the bottom vents need this space beneath when the lappy runs in power saving mode or if they just spend a little extra ventilation thats only useful for OCing... otherwise surfing/dvd watching while having the lappy in your bed would be impossible....

DDDa, Sager didn't manufacture the laptop, they just assemble it. Clevo is the designer who makes those kinds of decisons.

yeah i guess if i was using the laptop mostly on my desk at home or something, the longish feet wouldn't be a big deal at all. unfortunately i'm not looking to replace my desktop with a laptop

He might be off to work or may be sleeping happily. At least he is able to sleep
Give him a break. I am sure he will post as soon as he is done with the tests and such.
Be patient and you will be rewarded.

Solution.... Get the laptop.... file down the feet... Accidentally cook it because you forget to prop it up when not using it on your lap.

does anyone know if 15.4'' WUXGA+ screen is glossy like 8790 screen?
How does the glossy screen look like? Very reflective?

By the way, you guys must wake up early or something... last night, it was at page 2.... now it's at page 7!!

It's not, check the countdown thread for any other questions you have.
is it worthwhile to get the 12 Cell battery?

Unfortunately Luke killed the countdown thread. He seems to like closing threads rather recently. I shouldn't have named it a countdown thread, so that it wouldn't have be terminated at the review stage.

Personal preference... right now we're all debating and trying to figure out the 12cell impact on the system...
it depends on the life of the 6-cell battery.
The 12-cell does seem quite ugly
I think everyone is making a big deal about the 12 cell. If it doesn't cause the computer to wobble than it should be fine. You won't be looking at it, and I bet it doesn't stick out as much as you think.
