Hypersonic GX7 Memory

Thread Starter
The website says it is CAS Latency of 2.5, when I run CPUZ it says it is 3.0 so I called up the company and talked to a hypersonic tech who took a few minutes and first had me look at the ram to confirm it was the same that was in his system then ran CPUZ and said he got the same reading but he is being told it is 2.5 cas so I guess he is trying to tell me CPUZ is broke. He told me to call back on friday to see what he can find out about this.

Anyone else ever hear of CPUZ reading the wrong Latency on ram before or have this same problem with a GX7?

Thanks,

Other individuals have stated they have 2.5 CAS as well, but when you look at the results (as I show here), their 2.5 is under the 166 column and their 200 column shows 3.0. I am wondering if the memory is 2.5, but only when it is running at 166mhz. Not completely sure.

I provided my stats so that you can compare.

Congrats on the arrival of your system! Glad to have a GX7 family member near by.

I called and talked to hypersonic again today and learned that the bios is now coded to not allow the ram to run above 3.0 for heat reasons, could be the reason my system never goes above 55 celcius.

They offered to send me two chips that are hard coded to only run at 2.5 and see if it will override the bios. I turned them down, this was all done at clevo and not by them so figure they must have a decent reason, and the CAS has little to do with performance, or atleast just .5 does. But they said I could call back and get them at a later date if I so desired.

Just wanted to post this incase someone else was wondering why there GX7 only runs at 3.0
