Trade up?

I have a Silver Area 51m I got in Januaray of this year. The specs are as follows:

15.4 in widescreen (1680 x 1050)
60 Gig 7200 RPM hard drive
2.8 Ghz w/ Hyperthreading
512 MB RAM
ATI 9600 128 MB Video RAM
WLAN a/b/g internal wireless
CD-RW/DVD Drive
1 Battery

This machine is great, but now that I have had it for a while I wish is was lighter and had more battery life. I just saw the new Sentai and it looks like it is what I really need. (I'm a coder - not a gamer)

Does anyone know if Alienware would do some sort of trade up? Sort of like a certified used car program some car manufactures do? If not, can I try to sell the machine here? Has anyone had any success with that here?

Thanks.

I don't think that you can give your system back after 30 days.

You can try selling on eBay but I don't know

As far as I've researched, AW does not have a trade in option. You can try to sell it on eBay or post a thread in the Sell/Buy/Trade forum on this site.

Jeremy,

It will sell quick...Ebay it man. Use this board as reference to the fact that you/the auction are legit. We'll all vouch for ya.

I won't. I need to see pictures of him and the laptop and several notes with messages like "This isn't photoshopped" and "I love Alienware" and "Notebookforums are the ----" scribbled on yellow paper to make sure it's really your pics.

I'm just kidding.

Thanks Craig. I think I just might do that. And thinkjose1 -- you can see from my post history that I am for real

After having the Area 51m for a while I have discovered that I really want something lighter with better battery life. I'm willing to sacrifice some power for that. So, if anyone here wants an Area 51m in excellent condition, feel free to PM me.

jermyx, i was thinking of selling my lappy a little while ago and posted that fact in the "for sale, deals, wanted" section of these forums and got some VERY good offers..I would highly reccomend trying that, you can use escrow to make sure everything goes smooth if you like, and you will probably save money since you won't have to give ebay their percentage..
