I noticed that the CPU test went down alot. Is that the CPU as in main CPU which is the AMD or the video card CPU? Let me know on how to boost it up. And also, is everything based on the video card or also the CPU? Feel free to make suggestions to boost it back up.

Jhergo,

The CPU scores are for your AMD64 chip. The GPU is the graphics processor.

It would seem to me, on paper anyway, that you lost points on your CPU score (hence pulling down the overall score) because you've got applications running in the background that are eating up CPU time.

Be sure to run Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy on a regular basis...you could have a trojan running.

ok, might i ask before and after what? did you do anything or just take two tests at different times? or did i miss something?
do you mean before and after SP2?
or before after installing new drivers?

I'm not sure either what you mean

can't try to help if we don't know

The before was when i first received my computer.
The score after is my recent scores.
I updated my Direct X9.0C, Nvidia 61.77 and installed a few programs including Farcry, Doom 3 and CS. The temperature is 61C on the video card as well.

Driver Problems...?

I noitced the same thing on my FX5900XT right after i installed the 61.77 drivers on my sys. I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced the same issue.

How can i achieve 13000 3dmark03 score? I noticed the AW that was shipped after mine had higher scores. Rictor i believe have 13000 with the same exact config as mine. Wonder why my scores are lower?

I noticed a decrease in scores after I installed Directx9.oc; I'm going to uninstall it and see if that does anything.

Could also be the reason, but i compared the scores to someone who also have DX9.0C.

It is possible that they tested it from stone cold startup,
Could of disabled services,startup
Tweaked XP to use less resourses so 3dmark can take as much as it wants.
The OC bug. (where you oc, run test, put bakc to defaults, submit)

Yea, but Rictor ran the test again with the updated drivers and got a higher score. I ran the test when used the alienrespawn so it's like im running it from stone cold startup fresh out of the factory thing. I also did all the recommendations like disabling all the services. Im sure they tweaked the system before sending it out. I kinda want to know how they did it just to see if my system can reach those scores. And it should since i have the same exact configuration from most of the members here.

Jhego,

As you may know, I just received my system a few days ago. My score when I first ran 3dmark03 was 12808.

Since then my score has dropped as well to 11400, and I have noticed some slight pausing/stuttering in certain games. BUT... I have figured out what has caused my score to drop.

At first I thought it was something that I may have installed that might be slowing it down. Like Norton Internet/Antivirus security orthe many games I've installed. I also defragged.... was still getting the same score.

Do you play Planetside? Since I got my new computer I decided to give it another try. After installing it and firing it up for the first time, a window popped up saying that my power scheme is running in "Minimal Power Management Mode" and in order for Planetside to run, the scheme needs to be in "Always On" mode. So, I said ok and I changed it and went on with my gaming....

After uninstalling and disabling many services later I finally remembered that I had done this. As soon as I changed it back, my score shot back up to 12900+. Since then, I have been able to recreate the problem.

I don't know if this is the same case for you, but that's my story and how I fixed my low 3dmark score. Maybe this will help someone out as well who is reading this.

Cheers!

I have the same situation as you do. I will also have slight pauses when i run the game te first time. Hmmm, so power mode matters? Never heard of that before. Ill give it a try. Thanks.

jhego a cold start means.
Turn you computer off for about 5hours. Boot it up. Then run the test
hence "cold"

I could try that as well.

I'll try to run 3DMark now that I've installed a bunch of programs, but I was getting ~13100 the last couple of times. I know on that 2nd CPU Test my fps dropped down to 5 a few times. I went into the BIOS and disabled the Cool and Quiet, so my CPU is running @ 2.4GHz instead of the 1.2GHz like yours. It didn't help that much on the CPU Test, but my overall score went up a little.

UPDATE: Just ran 3DMark again and got 13069
