burning .mpg to VCD

Thread Starter
hi,
i'm having a problem trying to burn a *.mpg file onto a cd-r so I can watch it on my DVD player. The program I'm using is called Nero and everytime I try burning it, an error occurs and it says:

"The file 'video.mpg' is invalid, need MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video-CD...."

lastly, it says:

"The following problems were found:
- stream encoding which is invalid for a [Super] Video-CD
- no video
- no audio"

i dont know why its not working. it worked once when i burned Old School but now its not working for some reason..

A little help????

Take a look at vcdhelp.com
They've got some very good guides along with the programs you'll need to convert your file into a compatible mpeg-1.

What's probably happening is the file was created using the wrong codec and Nero can't convert it.

I posted a few articles on how to take a VHS tape in and convert to a VCD on the Sager Forums several months ago. Search the forums and they should give you the info you need.
