AMD just releasted the 3700+ DTR processor on the 17th, and i was wondering if the sager 4750 would be able to accept the processor if i installed it

Might need to learn to type with these on, however.

Maybe some of these would be handy for using it on your lap.

why, its only 81 watts

I think he was just exagerrating.

Yeah, I was.

But, 81W is the power that it draws, not the heat it needs to dissipate. I'm fairly sure sure that 81W 3700+ is going to put out more heat than a 81W 3000+, but I could be wrong.

From all I've read, the 4750 already seems to be a hot machine. If I had one, I'd be looking for low-power mobile AMD64s, instead of higher-rated DTRs.

I don't think there is much of a performance hit either. The one in the ferrari 3200 seemed fairly powerful at even a low voltage. So I bet the mobile will perform very well. I wonder if the gpu can be clocked higher with a lower wattage chip?

The low-power should put off quite a bit less heat, and I'm thinking the heat from the CPU may affect how well the GPU is cooled. If that's the case and the heat from the CPU is affecting the GPU overclocking, I would expect higher overclocks with the low-power. Since we're quite a ways past CPUs helping that much in games, I think the more GPU power would far outway the small difference in CPU power as far as gaming goes.

So, uh. Yes.

I'm just going by the temps reported in the forums from mobilemeter.
