No offense intended, but I cannot trust the advice coming from someone who believes "u" and "ur" are proper English grammar. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me and screams "14-year-old". I cannot abide it.
I've been buying and selling (mostly buying) on Ebay for over 6 years (June 1998, 901 transactions to date), and have used PayPal since its inception, including several multi-thousand-dollar transactions. If you approach Ebay and PayPal cautiously and thoroughly, they are no less safe than any other method of E-commerce. In fact they are considerably safer than plugging credit card data into the myriad of fly-by-night storefronts around the net.
Your best bet is to purchase a large-ticket item through PayPal, using a credit card. This way, if PayPal fails to deliver, you have recourse with your credit card company. Yes, I realize that not everyone has a credit card available to them; that's why establishing credit is so important.
|who ever mentions using pay pal as a "secure" method of payment that will protect u should be banned! Pay Pal is a joke...Avoid that like the plague on ur worst enemy
Please. If you have a personal negative experience with PayPal, relate the details to back up your claim. Drive-by generalizations serve no purpose.
For those considering PayPal and are potentially scared off by statements like the one quoted above, please remember that an overwhelmingly large percentage of an extremely large number of individuals use PayPal every day with nary a hitch. As is human nature with any service or product, the vocal minority that is disatisfied screams far louder than the satisfied majority who have no axe to grind...
