got my first viral infection, genital herpes in xp. avg detected it. avg told me it was a bad virus. avg said it couldnt clean or delete it. so now'm back with bloatware mcafee which destroyed it with extreme prejudice. i miss the small footprint and speed of avg, but dang....what good is it.

NOD32 had high performance in recent reviews in PC Magazine (LOL, hold the snickers). It has a trial version. Panda Virus also has a trial version. I have Mukafee but hate it, what a dog. Lately I've taken to keeping my shares to absolute minimum and being verrrry careful with my email. I've shut off Mukafee and run manual scans time to time, but don't try this at home kids! (Symbol for fingers-crossed goes here.) At work I'm behind a firewall, but we get plenty of email-generated virii there. I've escaped most of them.
