Hey I have this problem. When I stary playing CS:S on a freshly restarted system, I get about a 50 for latency. The game runs like a dream in this state.

Then suddenly my system begins to lose framerates, after about 10 or so rounds, and the game begins to become really laggy and starts to run like crap. My latency shoots up to the 120s in this next state. I have no choice but to quit the game (good way to fend off any CS:S addiction though!).

My question is what is causing this, and how can I solve this? I appreciate any help.

Sounds like heat other than the ping issue....have you cleaned out intakes lately with some compressed air?

Yeah

Actually I think the GPU fan is broken!

I'm going to do some notebook surgery and check it out...

Looks like the fan works. I just used more compressed air, I'll see how that goes...

I just turned off overclocking and made a test to see if it was heat problems. I got an (about) 86 degree (C) GPU core, and it still resulted in laggy play after a few rounds. So for now I dont think heat is the factor.

Would more memory fix this? All I have so far is 512MB.

Just got done playing on the AW server, hope some more people play, it was 2 on 2. Great fun though, got some more screenshots.

We should arrange a time for everyone to join in the server! What would be a good time tomorrow? Its probably preferred to have a time zone listing

I'm not naming one now because I pretty much have a free day tomorrow (Tuesday).

Well my wife called and we are going to go look at the apratment we are going to rent after work today so I will b ein about 6:30 East so thats 5:30 Central and 4:30 Mnt ant 3:30 West Just so we are all straight!
