Well, I though I'd jump on the bandwagon and get some of those Logitech Z-2200 speakers. I bought them here from Dell, and with this rebate thay come out to $58 with free shipping.

This makes up for that extra $30 I spent on the backpack.

How do they sound? When I got my 8600, the sound is so much better than my 5100, but I stll would love to get some external speakers. The sub is manditory for good sound.

Forgot to put that I just ordered them. I might have them on Friday.

Thats quick! I suppose they don't have to build them...

Wooster you will be flabergasted. If you ever want to really piss off the neighbors, the Z-2200's will do the job. plus they position sounds extremely well.

how do you guys plug your speakers in, there is no preamp plug? Do you just use the headphone jack?

Surely the Airport express is a better buy for $99 if you already have a good stereo!
Yeah just plug them into you headphone port and walla. Also I didn't have a good stero system I had the Z-340's which were nice but not nearly powerful enough.

I just got them in. And they rock. That's all there is too say.

Oh yeah, they are a bit bigger than I expected...

Wooster I just ordered me a set of these speakers. I looked at a few sites and found the same ones at walmart for 132.00. This is a great deal and the rebate is icing on the cake.

Has anyone tried the Bose Companion 3? I saw them on display at BestBuy and played around with them. WOW! they sound much better and not overly exagerated like the others. And the design is classy and clean. Very discreet looking. I'm waiting for the price to go down but they haven't yet. At $250 a piece, they cost more than any others, even the Klipse ones. Any opinion on this?

If I had a lot of money, I might think about buying Bose speakes. They cost just a bit too much.

No highs, no lows - must be Bose!
Hehehe.
They dont sound that good imho. Too 'bassy'.

Too Bassy??? are you sure you are referring to the Bose Companion 3??? If anything, I found it to be the opposite. I've listened to all the other brands at BestBuy and the Bose has by far the most "well-rounded" sound of them all! All the others were either too soft or too loud and "sour" with obnoxious BASS! I'm in love with the design and overall sound of this Bose Companion 3. I'm going to pull the trigger on these badboys sooner or later.
