4750 Club - Page 2

When it is possible to become the chief of this club with beating YOU to death with the 4750 I would join it when I buy this notebook .
Then I will announce a new rule:
Everyone who has this notebook gets every day free beer.

Thats a discrace to the sager notebook to be used like that......

Hey 4750 bunch,
I am considering the 3790 but, I guess, with the 6-cell (don't like the 12-sell) my battery life would max to 2.5 hrs on my happiest of days. So I migh t as well go for the 4750 which I have read to have pretty much the same battery life. Plus the 17inch would be a better option for DVD playback.
Can you tell me, first hand, what is the actual battery life of the 4750 (with either 3200+ or 3400+), when:
1) Gaming and/or numerical computation
2) just surfing and working with word docs and such
3) DVD (from optical bay) playback
Thanks a bunch.

my guess:
1) 1-1.5
2) 2 max
3) 1-1.5

seems my guess is close...

For a desktop replacement notebook, this is fairly amazing. Most Pentium 4 machines (8790, 5690) last around 1:15-1:30 on battery power. However, the 4750 doesn't hold a candle to Dothan machines that can last over 4 hours on a similar 8-cell battery.

Ogre...you really are a buffoon! hahaha i love the club idea though.
It does say he is president of the club.

I think I could work out a remark with all you 4750 clubbers and Ogre being a baffoon plus being your guyses president.... but that would be a low blow and as long as you own a sager it shouldn't make a difference....

Maya, Darren, Gary, goob, and any other 4750ers go ahead and make up a cool sounding rank and put it in your sig plz, it'll make Ogre happy

Hey can I join? I've never heard of the 4750 though. I'm more of an Alienware kind of guy.
For those wanting to join I think it should be required that you write an email to sager or clevo and ask if they will upgrade the 4750 in the future. Also mention that your concerned about internal heat and if there will be better cooling in future upgrade. If enough people ask they may just decide to give us are upgrade.

Oh, I'll get you. Ogre will beat you good, and that's a beating I can actually follow up on

I agree, we should make an effort to try and get Sager to give us some upgrades, but not right now, we just got them lol.
hoepfully tomorrow i can be apart of the club :P
post #38 of 159
I already bugged them yesterday. They said slim chance. That means there still a chance. I think they just wanted to give me the brush off. But I will ask in another couple of months about it. I am always curious. Btw is the mobile athlon 64 on a brown printed circuit as opposed to the green one the dtr model is on?

o well, I wasn't really desperate for a future upgrade option anyway, it would've been nice tho. My plan is still to build a cheap deskie in a couple years to play new games on and keep my 4750 for school work, wireless browsing, playing WoW 24/7/365, and other such lappy activities.

loud music, counter strike cz (seems to work really well), doom 3 and some far cry loving too! and school work eventually. and of course half life 2 and its mods.
