Toshiba Style Bay TV Tuner Kit issue on 5205

Last night, my computer would only show a blank screen after the initial windows xp boot screen, but no welcome screen. I was puzzled until this morning, when I removed my Toshiba Style Bay TV Tuner Kit and everything loaded ok. When I put the Toshiba Style Bay TV Tuner Kit back in, it wouldn't shut down until I removed it. I just got the kit replaced 2 months ago, but I guess its time for another one. Any one else have this or a similar problem?

Hi Jim,

Have you perhaps tried reinstalling the driver from the Toshiba restore CD, or as a last resort, done a complete system recovery? If you have already done those two things, then sounds like it would need to be replaced.

I backed everything up and restored it to factory default before taking it to a repair center. Same thing happened, I recieved a Video Error message saying that files were corrupt. So its not a software issue...what a freaking waste of time reformatting! Anyway, the trouble seems to be either the TV Kit or possible the motherboard. All in all, the customer services has been helpful and cooperative in trying to fix the issue. Downtime = 1 week. agh.
