Just used PC Wizard 2004 and it was interesting.

According to the benchmark test that PC Wizard 2004 ran on my system it says that I have PC2900 Ram in my M6805 E-machine. I know that this ram speed does not exist, so is it saying that it is just running at an equivelant speed? My ram is made by Hyundai. Is that the supplier to all M6805's?

Hi Hissman,

I just installed and ran PC wizard 2004, and it is showing my RAM as PC2300. Is it possible that the RAM information is being read wrongly? Because, it is also showing a total memory of 256MB (in general info: Dimm-1: 128MB, Dimm2: 128MB), while at the same time, in more detailed info on each RAM module, it is showing 256MB each. BTW, my RAM manufacturer is Infineon.

Ok, I found out what it was. It was fromUsing clockgen to raise my FSB. Running with stock settings it shows 2629mb/s or PC 2600 wich is closer to correct. You need to see what your FSB is running at.

As for your memory reading 128 MB that is correct. The memory modules are double bank, and have two layers of memory on them at 128 meg each equaling 256 meg per stick.

If I click on "chipset", I can see:

NorthBridge Information :
Architecture :Hub
Manufacturer :VIA (VT82C570 MV IDE Controller)
Revision :1
Front Side Bus Speed :200.5 MHz
HyperTransport Frequency :1600 MHz

Is this what its supposed to be?

Yes
Does it mean, my RAM is slower than what it should be??
No where on that chipset page did you list RAM speed. At stock clock speeds, your RAM should be running at 166MHz (assuming you haven't overclcoked memory only with A64 tweaker). Otherwise it will equal 166 + whatever amount you move the FSB (HTT) up in clockgen while overclocking. 333MHz DDR memory is technically 166.

Then yes, it is running too slow. FWIW, your's is also the first m68xx I have seen with Infineon chips. From what it looks lke on the "supported" part of that page, that is PC2100, not PC2700 RAM.

Are you running release 1 or release 2 of PC wizard. I am running release 1 because release 2 is not available for some reason.

GREAT.......So here I go again. I already had to send this notebook for a faulty RAM problem (I had to send it 3 time, actually, to get it repaired). And now, this...

Further, just to make sure.. here is what I get from the "USB Bus" page:

Device Information :
Device :VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller (All VIA Chipsets)
Version :1.0
Frequency :48 MHz
Interface :UHCI

Device Information :
Device :VT6202 USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller
Version :2.0
Frequency :48 MHz
Interface :EHCI

Is this alright? or all 4 of them should be USB 2.0?

Thanks for your help..

We hashed through this a while back when it was found and got ocnfusing. Turns out even SiSoft Sandra reports the USB ports like that. In reality they are all high speed 2.0 ports though.
Well, at least the USB part is alright. Thanks a lot for the info. I have PCWizard version 1.63, which seems to be the latest version. They don't seem to have the older versions up for downloading anymore.

I just installed 1.60 yesterday, but from what I saw they do not have 1.63 up any more. Last question. What speed is your processor running at?
1.80 GHz. But, what website did you download it from? I downloaded it a few hours ago from here: http://www.cpuid.com/pcw.php#download

They have 1.63 only, but not older ones
OK.. I just downloaded V1.60 from another place. let me see what this one gives me..

V1.60 clearly shows its PC2100...
