Way to make sure that installed chip is really mobile version

Thread Starter
I just recently got my IBuyPower S-Turbo series and I really love it so far, and have not had many problems, however, I want to test and see if the chipt that IBuyPower gave me really was the true mobile version instead of the DTR. Every hardware scanning program that I have seen so far only tells me that it is and AMD 64 chip and won't give me any specific enough details to determine what type of chip it is, does anybody know of a program or way to determine the exact chip without physically opening up the computer (i don't want to do that because it will void warrenties and such)

Test the battery life on it...

If it seems to be with what the claim +/- a little, then even if it isn't mobile, you don't have a concern.

Try going into the SiSoft Sandra, if you have it or know where to get it, and test your computer under the burn-in wizard but only the CPU, it should tell you the "CPU Core Power" at the beginning of the test. My Pentium M 755 registers as 25 watts. I think it's an estimate. Since Dothan runs at 21 watts and Banias at 24 watts.
As for the AMD chips, I think 60-80 is DTR while 30's is Mobile.
Hope this helped.
