You can ALWAYS wait for tomorrow's technology to arrive... tomorrow. So what will you use today? The "bleeding edge" didn't get the name because it's an easy (or cheap) place to be. Buy the best of proven tech today and be happy... as Scarlett said "Tomorrow... is another day!"

and keep in mind, any pci-e part right now would still be based on the x800 or x600. from what ATI has announced so far, the pci-e part is an x600 core, so the mr9800 would be the better card

next spring I'd expect a newer part for high end pci-e. gotta give them time to make some coin on the mr9800 first

Good to hear. I was mainly just worried about buying the XPS or 9100 and then, literally, the next day something else rolling out. Looks like I'll be able to place my order finally next week sometime. The prices on Dell Outlet have been steadily rising, so I'm hoping that this 20% off deal will come back. I guess we'll see if Dell is savvy enough to realize a lot of students will be getting their financial aid awards (at least around here). Wish there was a way to get Dell to pay me some commission for selling at least 3 XPS' for them just by talking about my upcoming purchase..haha..My boss and at least 2 coworkers have ordered either XPS' or 9100s this week. Did somebody say office lan party on the Man's dime? Word. Thanks for all the feedback from everybody btw,

SkEp
