games crashing

When ever i play age of mythology demo or Elite force II demo after a while my computer completly crashes and restarts. This happens very suddenly. When it restarts i submit the report thing to microsoft and it says that there's a drive conflict, or something like that.

I've got a sager 4046 2.8ghzp4 64mb ATI 9000. I'm currently using the Catalyst 3.4 drivers but it also did this to me with the drivers that where installed when i got the comp, not sure if they where the 3.2 or the 3.4 but after the first time this happened i uninstalled the original drivers and installed the 3.4.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening? and how i could fix it?

ok, i was about to check out the drivers off of sagers website, but since i just got the comp they should be the same was what i originally got. What you said probably explains why it happened with the original drivers i had and the new ones i installed.

well my computer continues to crash while i'm playing games. The system seems to completly shut down, a blue screen flashes for a split second and than it starts back up. The error report thing keeps saying its a driver issue but i'm begining to think my computer is overheating. This is after playing a game for a couple hours.

welcome to the club...

Mine just freezes ( I had that blue screen problem before as well). The blue screen said that there was a problem with the 2002/11 driver and I've been using cat32 ever since

It kinda sounds like thats something different. I do actually get the blue screen of death. Hopefully it is anyways i don't want to have to send my computer in.

System is probably overheating

One possible problem is your motherboard/video card is overheating.

Low video requirement games = no freezes or errors

High video requirement games = freezed and errors

I am waiting on a laptop cooler to test this theory. I purchased the aluminum cooler from Bytecc.

I have a similar freeze problem gaming with my 5670 / 128MB M9, but don't get an XP error report after manual cold reboot.

I'm very interested to hear how the replacement motherboard works out for you. I have reloaded XP SP1 with minimal drivers more than once trying to fix without results.

Good luck

the performance difference has to be because of the graphics card. Big difference between the two.
