haha any ideas on how to get it out?

I tried pressing the eject button and clicking on the drive and hitting eject but nothing works.

It's a gateway 505x. I'm baffled as to what she did to get this thing stuck.

Thanks,

On most drives there is a small hole somewhere on the faceplate where you can insert the end of a paper clip to manually open the tray. Mine is on the right side of the eject button. Good luck getting that CD out.

The problem is that the CD-Drive on the M505X/XL is a slot loading drive. I don't see the emergency eject hole that is on most tray drive. I guess you have to refer to Gateway Support.

Nevermind. Sorry for the bum advice. I'm not too familiar with all this newfangled hardware.

I'll keep pondering. In the meantime i've emailed gateway tech support, I wonder if that'll get me anywhere.

Thanks,

Open up My Computer and right click on your Drive and choose Eject.

i would not try anything daring like a paperclip because of all those motors used in a slot load drive.

I'd try looking on a automobile support site/forum since they usually have slot load cd players in most cars and this had to have happened somewhere in a car.
