Its the same as the Compaq Presario R3000Z except for the case so look for reviews on those and there are a couple on the forums. I will be getting a R3000Z myself.

I purchased the HP ZV5225US from Circuit City. The price tag was around
$1549 and included $250 in rebates.

Initail response: The computer is mighty hefty. Otherwise it came with a 60gb hard drive and 512mb ram. I run Photoshop CS and would recommend an upgrade in ram.
It has a single cd burner/dvd + writer. The screen is very nice with a 15.4 inch widescreen. The lappy itself gets warm but now hot. It charges in less than 2 hours.
I immediately loaded the boot cd of Knoppix and got the sound to work.
Woohoo. This is my first laptop so I do not have much to go on when making comparisons. It will be sweet if I can find a way to do a dual boot and be able to use Knoppix with wireless. I've heard that setting up wireless with the broadcom wireless adapter gives for a good headache. All backup disks were included in the box when making the purchase which is a definite plus. This model offers the speedbooster technology for wireless access and I plan on purchasing a wireless router tha can make use of this upgrade this coming week. Yes, the laptop is a little heavy but I find it perfect for use on the train. Oh, I get about 2.25 to 2.5 hours of use with the battery. Feel free to ask any questions at all.

A few days ago I purchased the ZV5255, and thus far I am rather pleased. However, there is one point that had me a bit confused at first. The notebook's 15.4" widescreen display is advertised as WXGA (1280x800) on HP's website (and everywhere else), but mine is definitely WSXGA+ (1650x1050).

I don't think mine is the only WSXGA+, but are all of them? I'd really like to know.
