Before I RMA the new hitachi drive I bought, I thought I'd ask here in case I missed something in the installation. I followed the instructions from the manual, but when I went into the fasttrak bios, only the original drive was showing up.
Here are the specifics of the install:
the new hard drive is the same model as the current drive in my 8790
I added jumpers to both drives to change to cable select
flipped both switches to the up position for RAID
I don't have the time and patience, nor do I want risk taking out the working drive to test if it's the cable or secondary drive slot problems. If no one has any ideas, I'm just going to return for a refund.
