I don't think you'll see very many software companies wasting alot of time on 64-bit software until a 64-bit OS is released and it's stable and being used by customers who want the software. Linux doesn't count, as many software companies don't waste their time on it in 32-bit, anyway.
The switch will happen, but not all at once anytime soon.
