kinda small, but maybe capn can blow it up or just use the one you're talking about

synergi if your not a idiot which one is better the sager 8790-C = ON PCTORQUE.COM or this used alienware with 3 year warranty here http://notebookforums.com/showthread...192#post387192

There's nothing right now that I would buy, with the new upcoming stuff. If I had to buy now, it would be a Dell 9100 w/ MR9800.

Appearance-wise, I like the 8790's style, widescreen, and the inclusion of the number pad. But, I don't care for the use of P4s in notebooks. The Pentium Ms have comparable performance and would create less heat in the same space, to allow for higher GPU clocking.

May I answer?! The Sager .... Better Screen, Better Chipset, (SIS Sux!)... Although Alienware has Purdy Colors! and do the eyes light up?! That's a priceless feature there.... And on a serious note, I think Alienware is suppose to offer the ATI 9800 soon as an Upgrade (of course Speculation and Rumor...) but.... I would STILL go with an 8790 .... Unless the Alienware is one hell of a deal...

Your thoughts mirror mine... If the 8790 Replacement is too high.. (will not go over 2800-3k) Then i'll get it..if not i'll get the 9100 with the 9800 and call it a day..

True.. Alienware backed themselves into a corner..they have to come up with an upgrade or get sued.. course now their not making that offer.. Beside I would never buy a ''used'' Alienware..from my understanding, you cannot transfer their warranties..

I like what the 9100 offers... but ... it's just too... ugly.... I suppose it's looks kinda work as an Anti-theft measure.....

I'll give you that..and the 9100 with that suck blue on it is the pits.. but the XPS is to high for a mere 200mhz increase....Can't argue with those bench marks though...

I have never as long as I've owned computers run a single Benchmark until yesterday..... I had to see what my desktop could do...

AMD64 2800+
1.5 Gig DDR 400
74gig Raptor SATA HDD -10K RPM
Geforce 6800 GT - 460 / 1210
and everything else to make it go...

I some how managed to score around 5000 in 3dMark03....
Given a comparrison to other things I've read.... I know I screwed something up.... I could have scores with 5 digits at least....

I've never cared for benchmarks,.... I figure if the computer will run and do what I want it to... It's perfect.
