The future, and impact of video games

It's a way to pass the time untill we get our computers I wrote this for you on the future of video games. What do you think is the future?

The future, and impact of video games.

At some point video games will become the major form of entertainment and productivity. When you load up a game in the future it will know who you are, it will know exactly what you like and dislike, It will know you just as you know yourself.

The producers of video games in the future will make a generic game to sell. Tis game will be able to shape shift into the game the user truly wants to have. It will be programmed to understand you and it will become you, you'll never get annoyed by it. It's programmed to become the thing that you want most.(remember it knows all the things you hate)

The future of out civilization is for sure; Children of the video game revolution will be amazing with hand eye coordination and problem solving. So, there will be encreadible jobs that are looking for people that can maneuver efficiently in a VR environment; Because all forms of machines will be remote controlled, there will be little to no need for manual labor.

The gaming industry might become the biggest money maker of our time, and the most challenging of moral delemas.

How do we keep an image of the human being true?

How do we retain our humanness?

How do we survive in such a physically inactive place?

...that is a bit too far... as a future game designer my vision of video game is a bit difference.
I think game is like movie, but instead of watch the characters/stories you can be the character and live the story.

I think future of video game will be a huge virtual world like in grand thief auto where every one is a player. Or let say the new "MOVIE" in 2007 Medal of Honor WW2 electronic interactive entertainment and the commercial line will be: get your Thomson or MG 42 and join in with your buddies/ family on the quest for world domination or world peace...

It will be similar to the Walt Disney joy ride but in much bigger scale. Imaging a game server with 5000 + people at a time.

When you watch movie in the theater you are experiencing the story as 3rd person view. How about u gets a 3d goggle and a special suite then you will be in the movie. You will be guide along the story line by a scripted entity. Now that is living your dream not watch your dream being acting out by some actor/tress

In short I thinking of a DREAM MAKER where 1 or more people can live a scripted or may be not scripted virtual reality. It will be a crane connected to your torso and hang you in the middle of the air with special suite that have pressure points so you can "feel" and a goggle. If we can get higher tech... It can be in a form of huge water tank with life support system and plenty of sensitive equipment that connect your brain …Erh you know like the matrix movie.

Pleasure is addictive. Yes it can be dangerous if human get suck into virtual world. But hey I willing to scarify some time of my real life for a DREAM life .

All that stuff won't be realized for a long time. I think in the nearer future, say a decade, graphics will be photorealistic and physics engines will be close to being perfected. By that time there will also be the beginnings of VR like mentioned above, but desktop comps and consoles will be the mainstream. Also, online gaming just might be rid of goddamn lag and there can be thousands of people fragging the hell out of each other in epic battles on HUGE maps in Unreal 2010

Haha i cant wait till im 70 or something(im 17) and my grandkids have vr goggles and whatnot. I'll tell them the old story about how "back in my day" you sat down and looked at a screen to play a game.

I feel the one thing holding us back is the screen. The above poster alluded to goggles. I see us going that way very soon once the technology required to pull it off the right way comes down.

Anyone read the Otherland series by Tad Williams? I think the way he thinks the internet and games will be in 30 years is astounding.

Can someone please start sorting out human testing/ethical dilemas and just develope bio-implants already. Jeez, I'm sure there's lots of us out there with piss poor vision that would love to give up our crappy eyes for implants that let us interface with machines. If I have to wear some sort of stupid visor, so be it. It's not like one would look any dumber than with BCG's.
