Hi all,

Thought I would contribute to the photos section. This new laptop is only 5 days old. Runs like a dream!

Enjoy.

Nice pictures. Is that the Dell Optical mouse? Don't really like it. Would have been better all-silver to match the 8600. The first thing I did when I opened mine up was take that plastic off. Could not stand it. Didn't get any on the palm rest like you did though.

Nice pics. That bright, clear widescreen is the ONLY thing I miss about my long gone 8600.

But was that CNN.com I saw in your web browser?

I can't stand it. I take it straight off. Same with remotes. Ugh.

dell 8600c

is this dell machine a p4 or centrino ?
The 8600 is Centrino. Well, that is if you order the Intel WiFi card (the 2200 b/g). Centrino is just a marketing thing, but you get a nice sticker on your chassis. The Centrino is made up of the Pentium M processor, the Intel WiFi and the Intel 855PM/855GM chipset I believe. Overall, a very good system. I have the 855PM chipset because I have the 8600 (the 855PM needs a separate graphics chip. I have the Radeon 9600 Pro). The 855GM/855GME is integrated graphics. I would stick with on that has a dedicated graphics card (the 855PM chip). It is fantastic!
