Obi's 3790 Benchmarks Section

post #1 of 26
Thread Starter
Well, I might as well get this thread started.
I've had a few minutes to mess around with overclocking and benchmark software on my new Sager, and thought I would post my scores. Thanks to Ogre, John, Gary and Agentsim for advice on how to overclock for this noob.

3DMark03 = 3607
3DMark01 = 13328

Have had some difficulty with SiSoftSandra04, but will keep working on it. I also have been unable to post my scores to the web to "legitimize" things -- any ideas?

Thanks! Good luck!!

a bit off topic... how is that blue lid? is it a cover that's removable? or is it paint job?

thx

Sadly, it appears to be a cover that could be removed -- I think. I really haven't tinkered with it to find out if it can be taken-off. It does look pretty cool, though, and I'm glad I got it as an option.

if you removed it would u void the warranty. If you could remove it i would probably get it without the finish and do a vinyl mod. o the posibilities!!!

I don't know about a vinyl mod, but I would love to get a light blue or bright white LED glowing diffusely beneath the mirrored Sager logo on the back of this thing. That would be supremely-better than a pair of alien eyes.

Post your clock settings

Sorry, forgot to do that. I was able to to clock my core up to 510.55 (from 445 stock) and mem up to 284.73 (from 247 stock). No artifacts at these levels (though started seeing minute ones at 525 core, 295 mem).

Aquamark3 Score = 29552 with OC as noted in previous post

what's the gpu clock settings?

Maya, bear in mind I've never done this before and I am, therefore, a newb at this whole thing. Are you asking me about the values that are displayed under the Radlinker Clockrate tab when using the Omegas? If so, my GPU core is set at 513.00 and my memory at 287.36. If, for some reason, I don't know what in the hell I'm talking about here and I haven't given you the info you need, let me know and I'll get the right stuff for you.
post #11 of 26
that is what I wanted to know. I was in the same boat as you a month ago. Not a problem.
post #12 of 26
Can you post what your scores were before the OC, or are they somewhere else already?
post #13 of 26
Common the other 3790 users should post theirs in here

Out of box 3DMark03 score = 3171.
post #15 of 26
Thats a nice score, once i get my cooler you just wait

my score at stock setting on my 4650 was around 3300, thats with 2 gigs of ram as well. Think something is wrong? i oc and got around 3500. i think 499/255
post #16 of 26
what's a 4650?
post #17 of 26

The 4650 is the little-known derelict brother of the now-famous 4750. Shunned by family and friends, the 4650 lives in a van by the river, where it keeps itself warm at night by snuggling up to a bunch of disgarded Prescotts.
post #18 of 26
lmao. The 4750 runs quite warm itself, I don't think it would have too much trouble warming itself up. I started a thread up in the same vein as the countdown thread, but it isn't a countdown thread. Its for the new 1280 sager which looks like the 3790's little brother!

3DMark03 with 1.7

For those with the 1.7 Dothan:

Out of box 3DMark03 was 3138

Not too shabby. Don't know if I'll try OC'ing.
