Help..Problem with new laptop

first off i ordered my laptop from velocitymicro....the cl56..i ordered it in Carbon black and it came with in 2 weeks...fishy i thought....i opened it up and its not painted...but i got that problem resolved and im getting a free dvd burner upgrade out of it...

Now i can use this laptop untill i get mine.....however it doent go online..i cant go online with aol or internet explorer...and i have tried two locations...and i installed wa i believe was the driver and still nuttin....and same with the wireless...i get a signal but i cant open up a web page..Help please

So, it's a problem with the modem, too. And you told us that you installed the drivers, right? Do this just to make sure everything is going fine:

Control Panel-->Phone and Modem Options-->Modems Tab

You should see your modem by now. If you don't, it's not installed. If you can see it, go ahead. Select your modem and:

Properties Button-->Diagnostics Tab-->Query modem Button

If everything is OK, you shall see, after some seconds, lots of ATI strings and such.
Ah, just making sure: you can't do this if your modem is in use.
