PowerCinema

i have a question about PowerCinema.

I have installed it but i got a message at the end of the install that the partition is "not active".
is there something else i need to do. i have already looked at the sentia user guide that came with my computer and it does not help.

anyone able to use the "P" key to boot to linux? did you have to install it or was it setup from alienware.

For the PowerCinema you'll need to create a linux partition for it, because AW ship the computer with only the windows partition and that's it; so if you like you can try to get PartitionMagic and create a Linux partition...

that seems stupid that it does not come preinstalled, is there any risk of partitoining the hard drive when you install it?
is it all on the disk or do you need outside sources
this all seems rediculous

thats exactly what i did. used partition magic then installed it to the new partition. when it was done installinng i got a message saying the partition was not active. when i try to use the "P" button from startup i only get a screen with some intel info on it.

I think the manual says it has to be on the 4th partition. I have yet to install it so I'm not sure if that is the problem.

Man I feel your pain but I got some help from the techs at AW with this.

Ok. Here's what you need to do:
First erase the additional partitions so that you have your one whole Hard Drive.

Then create an unallocated space at the end of your hard drive the size of 540MB.

Once this is created boot off the Power Cinema CD and proceed as normal.
It will ask you which partition you would let to install the software onto. Select the 2nd partition. It will tell you the there is no partition and ask you if you would like to create one. Type "YES" After it creates the partition and installs the software, power down and your "P" button will work with the Power Cinema software.

Hope this helps ya!

Are you guys running XP Pro. on your main partition. I've tried multiple times trying to install it and I keep getting a warning that the partition is not set active.
