Hi , I bought this old laptop from a yard sale a couple years ago, It did not come with a power cord ( by the way I only spent 10 bucks on it) but is all intact , has a floppy drive a HD, 8 meg memory and the screen apeaers to be fine I took the HD out and put it in an old IBM laptop and it boots fine but has no OS installed , and as of yet I have no Idea what brand it is , there are no manufacture lables or brand lables Nothing inside the case.
Any help in Iding it would be very appreciated Thanks in advance

Thanks for the help , and the camera was still it just sucks is all.

For what purpose do you plan to use this computer?

And I don't think the camera wasn't held still. I think the camera lens doesn't have macro capabilities and therefore could not focus on objects that close to the lens.

definitely not a toshiba (old toshiba's didn't use trackballs they used an accupoint eraser type mouse)...probably some generic brand like an old winbook or sager

That trackball made me doubt also, but the case looks so much like to old Toshiba's.

The only brand I know that used a trackball in the past was Panasonic.

NEC Versa

It looks like an old NEC Versa P to me. If not that, certainly an NEC Versa version.

Put the part number up and we will be able to check using google.

Bingo! It looked familiar to me. I knew it wasn't a Toshiba. But I couldn't quite place it. The trackball was distinctive. As soon as you said (I read) NEC, I knew that was it!

Good one!

Oooph the thing looks like one of those indestructable military notebooks....for 10 bucks you overpaid...

Sorry to say I doubt they make power cords for those anymore. Take it in to your neighborhood CompUSA though, they should be able to ID it.

Then post some benchmarks eh

how is he supposed to boot up without a power cord?

unless somehow all that extra bulk is to contain a nuclear reactor..

Well, I'm not sure about this particular model, but most laptops come with batteries...
