(it is an old thread)

I am hooking my extigy to my usb port. I select the extigy in the avermedia software, however, sound only comes through the internal speakers. I have basically tried almost every path possible i think. I am not too much interested as I was never able to get the tv to go thru the extigy.

The versions of this drivers is:
Bt848.sys --> 7.0.2.7

To install them just go to http://www.avermedia.com and select download, get the drivers for AVerTV203 v5034MultiLanguage. Unzip. Go to device manager and uninstall old drivers, reboot, and point windows to the new drivers in the unzipped folder. Easy as that. Then run the setup from the unzip folder.

One thing that i love from this ones is that it supports video desktop, so you can have TV as your desktop backgroung.

Enjoy!
Can you explain wat u mean by video desktop and how u get that? I've installed the new drivers. Since the tv tunar software is same old one. so where u find that functionality? To me everything looks same. wat exactly have changed with new drivers?
I think i'm missing something......

Wish I could get this to work, when I install the drivers I just get a blue screen instead of TV. From the looks of the options and controls I'd like it better than default TV app.

Lately I've been having problems with AverTV, it would crash when loading. After a while trying to figure it out, I realized that there were some codecs conflicting with it. What I did to fix it was:

I used a combination of Codec Sniper, Gspot and DXMan to remove all the codecs that I didn't liked . Codecs are a nasty thing..

Links:

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Codec_Sniper
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ (get the beta 2.52 b1)
http://www.analogx.com/contents/down...udio/dxman.htm

After removing the codec mess and reinstalling Avermedia AVerTV203 v52031MultiLanguage + Included Drivers from http://www.avermedia.com everything is working perfectly again.

the defiler pack along with the cat drivers and regular tv drivers make everything run quite smoothly. omega drivers seem to have more problems in my experience.

I have never used my TV Tuner, although I really would like to.
The problem for me is that the instructions were too complex for me.

I am going to download the new drivers, but I am wondering if there is a TV TUNER for Dummies guide to walk me through.

Thanks for any feedback.

kalaban do you want to use the standard 4.24 drivers that Sager supplied or some other driver. I can walk you thru the 4.24 install procedure if you like (some of this is covered in my review here)

First I need to say that I didn't installed the AverMedia AverTV software in Vista. It was already intalled in Windows XP when I upgraded to Vista but nonetheless for me the TV Tuner is working perfectly in Vista and this is what I have installed.

AverMedia AverTV 5.2 + AcerMedia AverTV WDM Audio/Video Capter (878) drivers version 7.0.2.9

I downloaded them a long time ago from the AverMedia.com site. So I'm guessing the new software + drivers for the AVerTV Studio 203 (M16A) which are versions 5.3.0.22 and 7.0.3.3 will work with Vista. Check them out and tell me if they work.
