700M stuff

Hi all

I finally got my laptop (700m) yesterday. Screen is awesome, build - awesome. I have already cloned the 30gb hard drive, replaced with the 7200rpm Hitachi. Made it much faster! The 30gb standard drive was a Hitachi Travelstar 4200rpm, just like I figured! Installing the new hard drive was a snap! Battery snaps out, 3 screws takes off the harddrive cover, then two more screws, then unplug the hard drive! Painless! The laptop seems very fast and well built, still having trouble setting up the wireless network stuff! This is the first time I've done any wireless, so probably just need to learn how to do it. But, I must say I'm extremely pleased, it has exceeded my expectations! One great laptop! So small, yet so clear of a display! Has all I need in a laptop.

did u try or do you plan to increase your RAM?? how much did you pay for the HD???

When I ordered it from Dell, I got an extra 256mb of ram - $125. I got the hard drive from Newegg.com for $185

Is this the Hatachi 7200rpm hard drive that you installed on your 700m? here If not,what model # & where did you get it?

I got the Hitachi 7K60 from Dell for $141 shipped 3 weeks ago. Looks like they've pulled it off their site again; it was there for a while, then it was gone, then it was back. When it was on their site last year, I got it for $132 shipped after a $25 off $150 coupon.

OK -wanted to make sure it would fit in the 700m
