ID Software made me do it....

I blame this all on ID software pushing back XBOX release of DOOM3 to 2005 (probably). I couldn't wait any longer so I ordered my AW this weekend and have been reading these forums and checking my order status WAY too often.

This must be what purgatory really feels like...

I don't think any of my parts will cause a delay, so I'm hoping that next week sometime it will arrive. Am I being to optimistic?

Can't wait!!!

Yep...it's blue. It was a toss-up between blue and green, but I decided on blue. It matches my big rig

I will probably buy Doom3 on XBOX when it comes out, just cuz it supports 2player coop and I have a friend who will probably play thru it with me. Had lot's of fun with Halo that way. I do however MUCH prefer mouse and keyboard for FPS. Hoping this baby will do ok with Doom3, though there are so many more PC games I've been missing out on. Right now have a Gateway
Intel 1.5mhz, 512mb Ram, ATI mobility Radeon 7500 64mb
Hate it! Can't run squat!

Still on Phase 3. Guess I shouldn't be too concerned, as I've read AW doesn't necessarily update your Phase status. My wife just called me a geek for checking on status and writing to this forum...can't help it. I've read a lot of posts and check update status when I'm able...

Ugggh....Been on Phase 3 since Tuesday. Logged on to Dell's site and spec'd out an XPS, didn't order it though--wouldn't ship til the 15th with a 256mb RM 9800. Guess I'm having buyers remorse...

I hope that eventually NV will put out a 256MB card. Looked thru Dell threads here and ppl getting 3d03 scores more than twice that of 128MB cards (DUH, makes sense).

Maybe I should just relax....Ahh yesss...Blue Moon Belgian White tasting real good right now

You should consider changing your card to an mr9700. probably do a whole lot better. And you'll find that the harddrive on your baby will fill quick. May wanna consider the 60 gb one.

Went to Phase 4 sometime last night/this morning, but we'll just call it today 8-28. Sent them an Email yesterday (didn't want to call 'em just yet) and got a reply within 3 hrs...doing the best we can kinda thing...I'll buy that.

Yeah, I could use a bigger HD, but kinda had to sacrifice some things to meet my price. I'll take some games off if space gets tight...long as I have room for some porno As far as NV vs ATI goes, I've had both and most recently ATI in my Gateway Laptop, but figure I'll give the other guys a try, can always switch it out if we get another AGP upgrade (256MB PLEEEEEAAASSSEEE!!!!)

If I just made Phase 4 today I don't think I'll be getting it in a week, more like 2 wks I guess

Handle is sort of for the book, but more just for Danish heritage.

No, don't think my wife reads these forums, but it wouldn't matter if she did. Besides, that would mean that she would have to stop playing 'There' for a few seconds to do anything else. She doesn't mind my stash o' porn so much.

Man, looks like it may be a while for my system. Just checked today and still on Phase 4 Sent them another email. Also checked on parts that might cause a delay and see that all Intel cpu's, except the 3.2 extreme, are at 14 day delays now. When I ordered it the 3.0ghz was not a delay item. Oh well. Really hoped I might have it this week. I'm on my regular hometime break (longhaul contractor for Fedex Custom Critical) to get the system and really don't want to leave until it comes in. The next few months would be soooo much better with my new Blue baby.....

Crap, just got a message from Maria Jose Lopez at Alienware... She checked on my system and told me the 3.0ghz cpu is causing a delay and gave me a 5 week window for shipping. I can switch to either a 3.2 or 2.8 and gain a week or two, but I can't justify being off work that long. I think I might move up to a 3.2ghz so hopefully it will be here when I get back in October. Don't think that the minute my wife calls me and tells me it's here that I won't turn the truck around and head home from NY,CA,WA or Canada to pick it up! Guess I'm going on the road without a computer....

I don't feel I can really blame AW for this. Money talks, and I assume bigger players (Dell, Gateway) are strong-arming suppliers for chips.

On a lighter note, I just got my Antec notebook cooler....at least the Gateway Laptop with have some a/c until I get my AW

I suppose so Craig...don't plan on having children anyway It does seem to work pretty well though. The Gateway used to run its fan often and now rarely comes on at all. I would much rather see my beautiful blue AW sitting on it though...

Well, I finally got the SOB!!!! Been too busy screwing around with it to let anyone know I got it...but I did. For those suffering the phase game, I feel for you. Phases don't mean crap though. Last I heard I was on Phase 2 (after changing my order) and got a mail from AW on 9-13 saying that my order shipped on the 10th, and it was here on the 15th. I'll post some pics with my crappy webcam in the pic thread...

Overall, I am very happy with it. Haven't had any issues with it. Still trying to get Doom3 to run better tho. Overclocked and followed some other suggestions and still can't do much over 20fps and under when anything is on the screen. Will keep trying. Really think 128megs is just killing me. NEED MORE MEMORY!

BTW, I am in my truck in Tampa....hopefully won't get blown away. I'll protect my baby at all costs though...
