Diagnostic

Is there a site I can go to that will perform a diagnostic on my 6811. I think something is wrong with my hard drive or something. I am trying to run pro tools and it keeps stalling. In other instances, I keep getting an error with Windows explorer and the touch pad.

A few questions:
Is there a way to perform a self diagnostic?
How do I check the hard drive?
How do I check the motherboard? '
How How How?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Try PCPitstop.com

I agree with Anaconda on pcpitstop. It is a good site for some simple different tools. To check the hard drive, you would probably want to use more thorough tool that will do a surface scan of the drive to inspect for bad sectors. You may also want to run memtest86 to check for memory stability.

And how do I do that?

http://www.memtest86.com/

The easiest method is to dl the bootable cd iso and just burn and reboot. Make sure you are set to boot from CD and it will start up for you with no user intervention.

You may want to use memtest86+ as that it is more up to date.

Perhaps because this is a forum labeled "Peer to Peer", not "flame him for asking".

Sorry for the confusion, It's a line from the movie "House of 1000 Corpses."
I thought my avatar would set that straight. I guess not as many people saw that movie as I thought.

No need for an apology. It is me that should be apologizing for my smart &^%, half-cocked comment.
