Everyone has a reason to get whatever size laptop that best suits them. To those who will not really take thier laptop off the desk, then it's a waste. But to those who need to have something powerful and somewhat portable, a big notebook can be a big help.
More and more colleges are recommending laptops for some students, like myself. It's essential to have a laptop to bring to design studio every day when there are more than 30 students signed up to a class that only has 20 desktop computers.
