Billing

To those of you who have ordered the 3790 using a credit card:
Does PCT bill your card before shipping or when it is shipped?

Sager informed us a shipment of this model did come in today (Friday).
We have notified a few customers that their order will be shipping
early next week. However, the qty received was not sufficient enough to
fill back-orders for this model. Thus, your order is still on back order
until further notice.

Sager has not told us when they are expecting the next shimpent of the
3790s, but we feel fairly confident to tell you it will ne sometime
next week. We expect Sager to get back on track with all of their models
farily soon. The school rush and the inclimate weather in Taiwan/China
has placed a high demand as well as a tight supply on the entire Sager
line.

As soon as we hear something, we will pass that information on to you.

i think its

patience is a virtue...

As for the US Mail...

"Neither snow nor rain not heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

http://hicards.com/platinum/bizarre/9-7.html
Everyone thinks this is the motto of the post office, but they actually have no motto.

Agent: I got the same email too...

I placed my order online with PCT on the 19th. I got the e-mail about the delay from them on the 26th, but I haven't heard anything since.

My dad worked for the post office for over 25 years. According to him the unofficial motto was more like: "This Bud's for you". *hic*

Yeah I got that email. My echeck cleared on the 13th so I probably won't be getting mine for another week or so. It's worth the wait though so eh. As for the shipments.. It takes about a friggan month for one of those huge cargo ships to get across the Pacific?

if u were still running the old steamships - lol

actually, its a lot quicker
besides, what makes u think they dont use air freight ??
Airfreight would be a lot faster? Probably around 2-3 days at most?
No but I know for a fact the huge cargo ships that carry all the semi truck trailors from China to the US take a month to arrive. My dads friend imports tons of materials from China to sell in the SF bay area.
yeah but trailer-trucks are large and prolly require huge ships to bring in bulk, which r slower
laptops could come on much smaller/faster ships

anyway this is all speculation

Might want to hold off on your 3790 order...

I am until they fix the screen issue.

So far 4/4 users have noticed something poking at their screens (WUXGA) inside from the back.

Check draw's review thread for more info.
Valkryst, 4 of 4 but do you actually know how many systems were shipped? I'll just guesstimate maybe a few hundred to a thousand units were shipped and usually it's the people who experience problems who post on the forums, not the guys who are having fun with their new lappy.
Fufu you are wrong.

All four of them were talking about how good their laptops were (weeks and days) before this problem even came up.

Do your research and read the post history before you make claims like that.

Now five users that have the 3790 have this problem go read all 38 pages of draws review thread to follow it.

So out of five people to buy this laptop and originally exclaim how great it is, all of them have it.

This is a confirmed design flaw in the WUXGA model and a yet to be confirmed flaw in the WSXGA.

I have decided not to order the WUXGA until this problem is resolved.

EDIT:
zomart has a WUXGA and claims not to have this problem, but he has a defective screen with light spots.

Therefore no WUXGA user has yet to have a screen that isn't defective or does not have this poking problem.
What I want to know is how many of these people have the metallic blue lcd covers.
Nobody heard of anything with the WSXGA regarding screen issues, aye?

Also, I just got an email from PCT confirming reciept of my check and so I asked when the eta was and received a very prompt reply:

"Pauline,
Current ETA for new 3790 orders is about one to two weeks, depending upon how fast Sager can replenish its current supply."

I'm still excited and feel I made the right decision.
