if you guys cant see it, its 19' C, and the HDD is 22... i think the AC works!

Great temperatures, you could definetly push it further.

it ran fine, i saw no signs to tell me it was stressed at all... in fact i played games for like 4 hours after with not one freeze up or problem... this thing really is a beast... i would OC it more ( i want to get over 4K) but w/o omegas (i have stock drivers) i dont know if i could/should. plus i dont know what would be a good number to OC to... kinda noobish in that feild... i dont wanna do n e thing bad... i tried what adam posted, 515/300.. thats how i got those numbers.... 3985.... any tips to get me over 4K???

if it worked for 4 hours that's impressive. see if you can get 6 hours in doom3 without artifacting. that would be a safe overclock. However I would conservative with overclocking, its not the greatest thing for the gpu. You may even want to use as5 if you want to really push it.

lol... when im not trying to get impressive 3d03 marks, i leave it at a safe clock speed... i forget exactly... adam reccommeded it.
Back when I had my 8790, I was at 535 Core, 325 Mem, and played Star Wars Galaxies for overly long sessions with no crashes or major problems....

but, I also was powering 1440x900 Resolution, which is a little more forgiving than the newer screens.......

I also made some cooling mods.... (Dremel and Mesh/Screen )

cooling is not a issue for me... i have my AC blast underneath it... gets temp below 20C wile running 3d mark OC'd.... i just need a safe clockspeed to get me over 4K concidering i DONT have the omegas

I don't think the omega's make that much of a difference.

capt al says 530/320 i say that will be tough... some say the vram cant go above 300 on 8790.. i dunno.... at adams reccommended speeds of 515/300 i got a 3985... so... little help?
well you could always try what captain al said. its insane, but I wouldn't recommend it. I think there is an "atitool" that automatically tests your overclocking ability. The omega driver would probably let you push it further, they can go quite way up. But so can powerstrip.

what is it called?? where can i get it?

im gonna try 525/315 ... if you dont hear from me, im really pissed!
atitool. google it.
I've never gotten ATI Tool to work friendly with my 8790....

Of course I explained to Deutch420, my 8790 was an exceptional OC'er....
Not all GPUs will be able to OC the same as the one before it, or the one after it....
Of course don't blame me if you kill it! I'm just telling you the numbers I had :P

well 525/315 did not preform well.... here are the results and temps...

3D03:3990 at 525/315 slight artifacting at 1st stream w/ butterfly
3D03:3985 at 515/300 " " " " " " "

Both HDD and computer temps never got over 30C....

oh well, doesnt look like i can break 4K..... or atleast im not willing to go that high

hm.. might wanna be careful though. blasting AC tends to create condensation.. and thats NOT GOOD for your laptop. check up on that before you leave it running for a few hours
