8886 and second battery

I searched the forums but am still not clear. Why can't you just put another
battery in the modular bay? Is it a power issue?

If I'm not mistaken, it's because the connection is not made to incorporate a second battery and there is not a battery that fits in that modular bay. The connection must have a power interface, and I guess the 8886 was not built to handle that and it would have been far too complex to incorporate into that complex of a machine...

Its too bad.. I'd rather have the second battery then the mp3 player or tv tuner (although both are very cool). I'd guess it also has something to do with the size of the 8886's battery, there just might not be room for two of them in there at the same time.

Well, you also have to consider practicality... If I know my physics, lol, the electrovaya battery, which is supposed to be incredible with its charge ability and lasts 6 hours with a normal lappy, will only hold up for 2 hours on the 8886.... This laptop is a BEAST. lol, putting a second battery in that modular bay will prolly mean using the one the 5660 uses, and that means you will prolly get half an hour more... Personally, I don't think it would be worth putting extra wiring in there for that. That's my opinion though. I can see where every little minute helps.
