ATI RADEON 9000 IGP vs. MOBILITY RADEON 9700

What would the performance difference between the MOBILITY™ RADEON® 9000 IGP 128mb video and MOBILITY™ RADEON® 9700 64mb video? Is the 9700 really that much better than the 9000 IGP? Personally I would have thought the 9000 IGP would be better since it has more memory.

There's no comparison. The 9700 slaps the 9000 IGP around like a red-headed stepchild. The more memory thing is just misinformation. The 9700 can be configured with up to 256MB of memory. The 9000 IGP shares the slower system memory with the rest of the PC.

9700 is to covervette as 9000 IGP is to chevette.

Its not even in the same ball park. The 9000 IGP ~4000pts on 3D Mark 01, and the 9700 may break 10,000 pts.

Just think that you'll be glad just because the 9700 doesn't share memory with the of the system, let alone the "Quark-to-Universe" (I can make analogies too ) difference between them...
