I have a question, is sager aware of the user base besides gamers?
Are you guys aware of the needs for Mechanical Engineers, Industrial Designers, Animators, Game Designers, Digital Illustrators, etc, etc, etc,
It blows my mind that your largest screen (17") of the new products it has the lowest pixel count of all. Also no 800fsb or ati 9600.
Then your other two new laptops have ati 9600 pro, but not professional cards. What about the fire gl version? or an invidia quadro offering? Ati gamer cards just don't cut it for ProE, Maya, StudioMAx, etc.
I'll tell you what, tell those guys at sager to make a professional system. Like 17" LCD 400:1 contrast ratio and 1920x1200 pixels. Pair it with the fastest 800fsb HT processor and the option for pro or fire GL card. Now if you really want to get fancy add the touch panel option (pressure sensitive) to it for an extra $1000. Yeah that's right it would still be cheaper that buying a separate tablet for sketching.
Put a quote of how much this system would cost and do some research. I can guarantee you you'll get lots of buyers. Just an example: There are thousands of engineers that travel to Asia to OEMs for various industries year round, Their major complain is the lack of a system that can run all their 3D cad apps as well as their worstations back in their US office. I hear everywhere questions like" where is the best mobile worstation I could buy? well there isn't much out there other than the Dell M50. I think you guys are missing a big one here.
If you don't believe me just pop a question in the forums of proecentral.com (mechanical engineers) or cgtalk.com (digital modelers and animators) or core77.com (industrial designers)
Anyway, sorry for my long post but I'm sick and tired of looking for the laptop that just does not exist, and it seems that you listen here.

Question for Adam: if I choose a dual battery setup on the 5680, can I still get dual hard drives and a DVD-RW? Can I also add a 6-in-1 card reader on top of that?
Also, can we confirm if the video card is swappable/upgradeable?
BTW, I'm amazed by how many people want are waiting for the 4760 to get the m10 and 800 FSB... I went to CompUSA the other day and sat down in front of the new 17" widescreen powerbook, and UGHHHH! It has the same screen as the 4760, which everyone has raved over, but I could never imagine myself sitting down and typing/starring on that akward thing. I guess to each his own. I am totally excited about the 5680, has all the technology I have been waiting for.

I know, I put in the request for a higher res LCD in the widescreen as soon as I got the specs on it. The current one may be fine for many people, but some such as yourself want the higher res and is a matter of buying/not buying.
Thanks for the input, it will not be overlooked.
