Volume and Birghtness?

Couple things:

1. is it possible to see on screen when you adjust volume levels, like on a tv, is there software or maybe a setting i dont know about?

2. is there any sort of brightness boost for the screen?

i have a 5670-v uxga

brightness boost?? most users lower the brightness because it is usually TOO bright in the default set up...you also get better color definition when you lower the brightness...

I dont think its to dim, not entirely. compared to the sony we are selling were i work, the sony looks quite brighter. so i was just curious. dont get me wrong i love my sager and the screen.
