I Bought A Laptop!!!!! Hypersonic!!!!!

I wanted the GamePC but they informed me that the 8x Dual Layer isn't compatable with the 17inch model! Their price was insane.

I talked with Michael Kohen from Hypersonic and he came across as a very good sales rep and he made me feel very good about Hypersonic's tech support and upgrade options. They have a trade-in program where you can trade your previous model Hypersonic laptop for a newer one. He said that this will guarantee me an upgrade to PCI-E for my system when it comes out at a price under $500. He also threw in a free Hypersonic t-shirt and cap!

My total price was $2995 with Free Overnight Shipping. It is expected to ship between the 9/8/04 Their Clevo model is still instock so I don't have to worry about the backorder.

Also, he told me that their systems perform better than Sager and any other Clevo model because they use the top of the line components. They also use Arctic Silver 5 on the cpu!

Alright here are my specs:

Hypersonic Aviator AX7

What's the estimated battery life on that notebook?

its the same as the sager! this is the same clevo model only it is Hypersonic branded and is better quality. I don't have to worry about my laptop being recieved with dead pixels/ or shuting down because of heat.

the gpu and cpu both feature arctic silver 5 cooling.
of course, I know it's a rebadged D470K, so it's the same laptop. the hypersonic isn't higher quality and will be just as susceptible to heat. you can apply as5 easily enuf yourself. as for dead pixles, only one person so far has gotten them and all he has to do is send it back which is what you would have to do anyway. not to knock down your new AX7, but it almost seems that your knocking the 4750

I guess he was sucked in by the salesman so good that he believes everything the salesman said. Of course Hypersonic wants you to buy their stuff so they have to say craps about sager 4750. Look at go-l.com, they claimed their stuffs are the best with all the lastest and greatest components but in the end it was just an over-priced 8790. Anyways, good luck with your AX7!
I don't know about comparing go-l.com with Hypersonic. I can tell you this I've seen the 8790 and I'm glad as hell I went with the GX7. The paint job alone was worth it to me. Congrats on your new purchase j4ever

I'm not knocking the 4750. I really wanted it more than the Hypersonic, but I had some issues with it:

Contacting Sager was difficult...Hypersonic it is just a phone call away (no messaging hell)
If their is a problem with the Hypersoinc, they will ship it back to them in 2 days and back to me overnight.
Sager is slow with their upgrades. They can babble all they want about their R&D, but the truth is that they get them from the same place and all they need to do is badge them and ship them.
Sure I can apply AS5, but it could possible ruin the warranty. Hypersoinc has AS5 on not only the cpu, but on the GPU.
PCT has said that PCI-E will not be available for 4750 owners in the form of an upgrade. Hypersoinc says that they will offer a trade in and a similar system to the one traded in with PCI-E will be available for no more than $500.
It seems that a lot of people (except mayaman) are getting heat problems with their laptop shutting off or mobo going bad. Hypersonic said that their computers don't get those problems because they completly take apart the system and make changes to it to ensure that it runs cool and very stable.
If you notice (when in stock) once you order your Sager, it comes it very fast. This is because all it is is shipped from Clevo, rebaged with Sager's name, and shipped out to you. The Hypersonic is shipped from Clevo, stripped apart/rebadged/rebuilt to Hypersonic's specifications, 72hour burn-in tested, then shipped out. This helps to effectivly decrease the chance of the home user having to go through the troubles of shipping it back for a replacement.

In all truth tho, even though I have my quirks with Sager, if they had a 3700 available, I woulda bought it because of the price. But I have to be happy with Hypersonic because now I don't need to worry about any problems when it comes in. I'll take some pictures of it and review it when it comes in.

That of course is a crock of s****! Unless you consider a 6 buck tube of AS5 better components then its no better then anyone elses Clevo model.

Other then that congrats on your new unit.. hopefully the 3700 will work out for you..if it doesn't im sure we'll hear about it..

yes u will! LOL.

yes i did get that in writing.

As for the AS5 on the GPU and CPU, at least Hypersonic takes care enough to do this for their customers. The burn in is also a good idea to prevent problems for the customer. They don't use the same memory as Sager. All their memory is CAS 2.5 and some as low as 2.0 They use micron/kingmax/corsair depending on the configuration and they have custom CAS settings for the bios.

Sager on two occassions has returned my call within 20 minutes.

Rushing to be first isn't always the wises thing.. not if that 3700 chip starts melting silicon... you understand that and wished it would have been tested longer then pushed out quickly just to make a buck. I think that is why alot here..though Hypersonic is also a great company..many trust Sager.. for a reason..

Already been proven it does not void the warranty..

If that machine comes out at 4k they are not going to take a 4750 back withon only a 500 difference.. so get it in writing as I already said.. Did you hand him some milk to go with that peanut butter? He was spreading it only really thick..

I was exagerating my point a little.

syn...i got it in writing on my reciept because I told him that it is neccessary for him to do so.

also, a similar system will be offer at a $500 upgrade. Meaning that I currently have a 2.4ghz socket 754 with MR9700. Similar to that would be a 939 2.4 and a PCI-E card prolly the lowest one, but I can opt to pay more for a better one.
I will need a bucket for drool if they offer an upgrade to the 4750. Then all of my worries will be for nothing. Hypersonic-Pc doesn't use the same warranty as sager so that may be a good thing as well. They do pay for shipping for repairs. If I had the money I would have went with them, but they charged a lot more at the time. Its $7 or $13 with shipping for as5 from newegg. I like to play with internal parts so I have asked many questions about it.
hey cmon everyone, j4ever had his reasons for going with hypersonic and we had our reasons for going with sager. it's all good! here's some smashed bananas for ya buddy!

Hey! I want a return policy like that!
