Something is really messed up with my CS:Source video stress test FPS scores...

41.8fps with everything on low no reflections, no aa/af
39.5 fps with everything on high, reflect world, no aa/af


resolution is 1280 x 800 (widescreen)


specs are..
athlon 64 3200
1gb ram
radeon 9700 mobility with newest omega drivers


what the hell is going on? i should be getting much better FPS..help please?

That really doesnt sound too bad for a next gen game. Although i admit i havent really compared what the norm fps's are in CS:SOURCE.

Just remeber you working with what is equivalent to a 2 year old desktop gpu.

yeah but i've heard people getting better framerates with 9700 pros.. and the difference in framerate between high and low settings is negligible.. which is ridiculous

9700 Pro = Desktop card.. 8 pipelines, 256-bit memory bus, etc.
Mobility 9700 = notebook card.. 4 pipelines, 128-bit memory bus, etc.

If you want to compare your Mobility 9700 to a desktop card, compare it to the desktop 9600 Pro or 9600 XT.
