I am sick of using free and limited hosting providers and i was wondering what is some good and slighty user friendly web site and e-mail hosting programs for a windows computer. i know apache but i have no idea how to use that. and i cannot find a easy to understand step by step for it. i plan to eather use them on my laptop for now untill i get a final answer on a desktop. if i didnt provide enough information just ask me. thanks for your help.

and the software i would love it to be free or accesible from other means or academic pricing.

oh yeah what would be a good inexpencive computer i could build. like what processer mobo 3d-card if one HD case, etc.

Is your IQ really 133 and your age really 15? I don't like the way you use big curly braces in your sig. Sorry, I don't know aoubt website and e-mail hosting programs. Other than IIS that comes with Windows. I think all versions of XP and 2000 have some sort of IIS web server. I don't know what you want for email hosting, I'm sure there are freeware versions for Windows, but if you ran Linux you'd probably be better off on both counts.

You open a huge can of worms with your computer building question. If you go with all the cheapest crap you're asking for trouble, and beyond that, you're going to eventually get opinions from all camps of motherboard and processor fans. It does look like the bets price/performance processor these days is some kind of AMD.

Good luck!

when i went to court for a thing that happened they wanted a profile and they did a iq test and i got 133. so i guess thats right. and IIS, whats that. actually better question how do you use it. i think apache would be good and i think that has a e-mail hoster. but i dont know how to set it up properly. i am not good about reading instructions. i usually skip them and just figure it out my self. and a nother question, do you still have to pay for a url if you host yourself.

i was just at the apache website and i have no idea how to download this. is there like a clone or w/e there called of it that is apache but easy to use.

haven't read the whole thing just so i can get to the point, analogx.com has a few good free programs that can do web hosting and i believe they may even have an e-mail host as well, check it out, they have some really good software

ps: replying takes time sometimes, if it's a difficult topic, not everyone knows the answer so it may take some time for someone to come across the post who knows how to help you, i know i don't have the time to be hunting the forums all day

pps: upon reading the post further, i notice that you want to know how to have a url.... go to www.gotdns.org, they provide free dynamic dns, and then you need software, i use directupdate, that combination will allow you to use the url that you sign up for to redirect to your computer, and depending on what you have running on your computer (http server, ftp server, ssh, e-mail, etc.) you can connect to it

Yeah I see your site.

I actually saw your topic right after you first made it, and was going to suggest the AnalogX software, but I've never used it (I use apache myself) so I didn't.
