5690-V 3dMark03 score

Thread Starter
I'm trying to make sure I'm getting the best graphics performance possible out of my 5690. I ran 3dMark03 today and got 3863. Is this score on par with others with similar setups? And would anyone recommend overclocking (which I know nothing about )

My specs:
5690-V
3.2Ghz
1GB ram
ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 with ATI Cat 4.8 (modded) driver
7200 rpm hard drive

EXACT same setup. Overclocked just a hair (486/317) and I scored a 3955.

I see you have the 4.8 drivers installed. Are you able to play movies? I had to goto the 4.5 drivers cause my movies were lockin' up.

Nice lappy tho.

Guys when you are running these tests are you doing 1600X1200? If so mine sucks soooo bad. (

i just tested it with omega and no oc whatsoever and got up to 3860

I did mine at 1024x768, looks like mine needs some work. I tried doing the latest omegas, but the install didnt go through, said it wouldnt work. If I were to go with the cats, what version?

make sure you uninstall the ati control panel before you install omegas. (add/remove has it in their). Also i just reinstalled the ati drivers and installed atitool and clocked up to 480.6/299.7 and got a score of 3913. If anyonethinks this clock level is unsafe i emplore you to let me know i dont wanna burn my baby up.

Ah ok, but if I needed to return back to the original drivers, just pop in the drivers CD that came with the lappy? or can I download the control panel from ATI's site? Also, when o/cing, whats the safest mild setting? I'd never seriously o/c it, too scared it would hurt my lappy

you can download new ati drivers from www.sagernotebooks.com. i suggest taking out the omegas all togther (they have unistall options in the start menu/programs) and i just overclocked a little bit. and did a burn in let it run for 20 mins on an artifact test and then did a heavy test in 3dmark

I got about 3650 with the default drivers, and ~3750 with the omega drivers.
