Yeah, I've heard similar stories like that. It's pretty sad to dish out thousands and thousands of dollars... only to get a diecast model. Heh. Good.... Game.

Where did you hear that nonsense? I have been doing business on ebay for years and i've never been scammed. There are a few silly auctions here and there but most of the itme they are so obvious that nobody pays attention anyway.

How about the guy who Bought a Porsche and got a freakin model? I heard fo a guy who listed his auction saying "You are bidding on this Xbox picture" when it was launched, some poor guy bids on it and pays out $400 for a damn poloroid becuase he either assumed it was a typeo or just didn't catch it. A few silly auctions my ass, theyre everywhere. I'd never do business with them.

So those incidents translate to ALL ebay auctions being a scam? I dont think so. If an idiot bids in an auction where someone is selling "a picture of an xbox" the the bidder deserves to lose $400. It will teach him to read the description next time. I have sold thousands of items on ebay and nothing is more annoying than ignorant bidders that dont read the description before they bid.

I have bought things like a Toshiba Pocket PC off of EBAY, 2 phones (p800 and nokia 3650) and they were real. My experience with Ebay has been actually very good. Like he said, just read the description very carefully.

Altho, ther are some scams which say "Buy this new Alienware Aurora" and list all the specs, then you pay around 3k for it, and when it comes, its a box full of fluff, and you have no way to contact the auctioner.

So on Ebay, its perferable not to buy unlessu get a great deal, but if u do buy, just contact the seller before u bid, make sure its safe, and just follow common sense. Thats what I did, and I never experienced any spams or frauds.

HELL i sell on e bay and they werent scams. i sold like 5 xbox games on there and i made money.

you have to remember there are people out there that will buy anything some people even have a sickness kinda like OCD where they have to buy everything they can find that has a low price. think that way and you will go far.

That is complete and utter BS. I have been buying and selling on Ebay since 1999 and NEVER have i been scammed. If you use your common sense and avoid items that look too good to be true, you will be fine.

I remember one story on the news that one guy put his life for sale on eBay so he could live with some family. Someone won the auction though. It was on CNN and all the major news outlets. Pretty funny.

There was another one where some dude was aucitoning off the rights to name his first born kid. That would be a fun auction to win
