Windows Logon.

Hey, is there any way I can speed up my windows logon? It takes me exactly 30 seconds from time I enter PW, to time my desktop is shown. And if you ask me, that is too long.

Too much stuff on your HD. Defrag. If not, then do a fresh XP re-install.

Hi,

This happends to XP after a while, and ALOT can cause this. Here a few things that can be casuing or some fixes.

Bootvis = Can fix speed up system bootup EXTREMLY. (very good for laptops as u cannot add anymore hardware compnents with desktop u havata unbootvis when adding new hardware. (hardware is NOT considered as if they go via a port eg usb)

Disable Background Transfer Service = Can speed up login

Disable Graphical Login = NOTE THIS DOESNT CHANGE THE LOOK OF OS JUST THE WAY U LOG IN. It goes to the classic login box instead of the splash page.

msconfig, selective startup... uncheck all items.. reboot.
