Just watched a dvd, heat went up to 69 degrees, I paused it then came back and it was at 50degrees.

Sounds like your playing in a hot room. No ac?

shyy, can you please try to connect the zalman directly to the front jacks of the laptop once? i also have one of those and the back speakers don't work when I do the soundman tests, though i have the 5.1 mode..

Played the game far cry coop and it played flawlessly at high setting and 1400 resolution.

Bad luck today: the dvd rom lid broke :/ it came off when it hit the surface putting the cd in. This thing is cheap, is this coverd by warranty? i doubt it is, if it is, you guys think its worth returning for a new one?
The thing looks good , alittle piece snaped off, but it still sticks to it Can't tell at all that its messed. Even ejecting doesn;t come off

hehe I am actually ina ac room, otherguy what do you mean? there is only one port for the sound card, did you plug in the mic port as well? if not which port you use front, center, rear?

Shyy - I am sorry if this is a dumb question - you sound like after backing up your files for 5 hours you expected the laptop to freeze. And you say it did when you placed it in ac (what's ac?) So why is that? Why should it freeze?

I remember Mayaman also describing something to the point that his laptop was blacking out when it got too hot, in some other thread here in the forums. Is this only becoming an issue if you start overclocking or is it like this with stock factory setup?

Heres some images from far cry

no, i mean, can you try to plug the headphones directly to the laptop (without the external sound card) via the jacks in the front (next to IR) and see if you get 5.1 output??

I doubt it will support 5.1, internal sound card are not that great. The sound is not that bad

i think a defective part like your dvd tray would be covered under warranty. I would ask first, but too me it seems like you didn't cause it intentionally which I think would void the warranty. Nice pictures! More!

The sound is starting to make crack noises, when its at the hight volume. Like a wierd humming robotic noise.
