Did a little bit of research and accounting, hope this helps anyone.
I customized 1 system from mwave and 1 from ekm.
Here is my little research:
1. 233II0 from ekm
Pentium M 1.7 Dothan = $297 (newegg)
EK760 40gb 7200 8mb buffer = #134
2x512 pc2700 = $177 (newegg)
Barebone = $685
DVDRW upgrade = $90
total=$1418 (without shipping, dont know how much ekm charges)
2. 233II0 from mwave
Pentium M 1.7 Dothan
Total = $1045 + 29.62 3 day shipping = 1,074.62
I will upgrade the HDD, memory and the combo drive to a dvdrw
hdd hitachi 40gb 7200 8mb buffer (E7k60)=$134
dvdrw=$132 (seems like newegg increased the price)
Now my idea was to sell the hdd, memory and optical drive that came with the laptop in ebay.
(This is an approximate)
As we can see buying it from mwave and selling the parts in ebay is cheaper. However, I dont know if the extra time and money (probably $10) you use to post, sell, and ship your items in ebay is worth it. So you guys can save $40 -$50 dollars if you buy it from mwave and sell the parts you dont want.
Update: Just checked newegg again and they increased made a $2 increase in the corsair memory. So guys add an extra $2 to each config. Damn newegg increasing the price when labor day is near
