Sentina review

Ordering:

Ordering went smoothy, I ordered online with no problems at all, the order was confirmed within a few hours and then I played the phase game

Shipment:

Fedex came, the box was in great condition. Packaged very nicely

First boot:

The first boot went very smoothy, filling out all the Microsoft crap.

Keyboard:

The keyboard leaves a lot to be desired. It could be a bit bigger, the space bar is very small. Also the shift key is to small.

Touchpad:

I hate it. It is way to sensitaive. Typing this took about me about an hour because I keep hitting it some how when I don’t even notice that im near it. Also there could be a button to disable to touchpadwhile typing a paper ect.

Screen:

Even thoe its only 12.1 inches. It’s a beacuty. I also own a sony labtop, and I can say this one looks just as good as the sony does.

Battery life:

Battery life I great, im getting about 5 hours of battery life, while running basic applications such as word, chatting and so on.

Duriabilty:

The system feels very strong. Its not flimisy like I expected for such a small laptop

Heat:

The labtop does get a little warm when its sitting on your lap. I addeda little plasic notebook holder that allows it to vent properly, and it keeps its cool very well.

Powercinima:

I have not been able to get it work, I have installed it but can not get it to boot. Still working on it.

Wireless:
The wifi- card works great. didnt have a problem at all. excellent connection.

CDRW-DVD:

the tray is a little flimsy but that is expected with any portable optical unit drive. The one bad thing is how the button is on it. you can easly hit it. and i have many times

Overall:

I am very happy with my labtop, it does what i wanted it to do, just basic aps while sitting on the couch and watching tv. Also great for traveling, went to my familys house, fully charg ed battery. Spend a few h sours there and still had battery power when i came home.

Edited to add this:

I have noticed when battery life gets low, the wi-fi card "throttles back" bandwith for some reasom.

100-30% bat life dowling a file off my private server i get about 300kbs
30-1% bat life, get abbout 50kbs

have u installed the touchpad drivers, it comes on the utility cd and it has features such as palm hitting while typing and u can make it so it knows when your typing and if you accidntely hit the touchpad it wont do anything, get the utility cd it came with and install the touchpad driver and you will see what im talking about, this should help, let me know what happens...

I've installed the touchpad dirvers off the utility cd and it has some great features. I don't know if you've done this Nightrush, but the utility gives you options like "PalmCheck™ feature which guards against operating the TouchPad with accidental contact. PalmCheck allows the TouchPad to recognize when your palm is resting on it or brushing its surface while you are typing." There is also a touch sensitivity which if you put it to heavy, it basicallly turns off the touchpad which would be handy when typing. Since I've use the palm check option, I have had the cursor move once while I type. Its great.
