What's the status on backorders?

My order is still standing, it says backordered.. at DISCOUNTLAPTOPS.com.. how long is it gonna take? And what issues are people experiencing with the WUXGA screens?

@Moe: When DL sent the e-mail last week it said they were expecting a shipment this week... so cross your fingers and it might ship early next week!

me too... Uni starts up again Sept 7 and I will be overly swamped with work... a couple weeks without a lappy could cause me some major pains.

I just checked order status and it's still unchanged. And I also forgot to select 2day air shipping or something.. cause mine's set to GROUND. Oh my god.. I'm gonna DIE. I won't have this lappy till like.. Sept. 14th..

I am so stoked to get my laptop I can't put it into words. My day since getting the e-mail has been so much better. I got a laptop backpack yesterday from best buy (targus 212 or w/e, the sport one) and I really like it (lots better then using a plastic bag from the bookstore). I wasn't expecting a tracking number for another week or so cause they said it was going to be at least a week from the 26th, so this was a VERY pleasant surprise. I will post a review ASAP tomorrow.

Mine still says back-ordered, not shipped and I haven't received an email either. I'm thinking about sending DL support an email to ask about the situation. Congrats to those who got theirs shipped today!
I ordered mine on the 22nd and the got the payment on the 24th, so I'm probably far from being around the first in line to get the 3790's..

Moe, this batch seems to be all WXSGA+ screens, I ordered mine (WUXGA) on the 18th...still waiting. And I'm going to need a laptop soon. I'll either buy a CL56 locally and cancel the 3790, or buy a used thinkpad to keep me going until the backorder finally clears up.

GDamnit. Thanks for the quick update.. I'll sit tight. What else could I possibly do. Damn this sucks.. so I guess I can't expect my 3790 anytime before like.. the Friday AFTER this coming Friday? That just blows.

Just saw this email. Oh DAMN. This will take forever. Resellers aren't even gonna have the 3790 till NEXT TUESDAY. This means not until Sept. 7th, which now that I've seen which day it is, is ironically the day my classes start. Holy crapzor.. we might not even see our lappies NEXT WEEK.
Is it worth upgrading from ground shipping to 2day air for 25 bucks?
