Take it to best buy, they will correct the static issue for you.
it is cover under the MFW.

Hi Guys,
I have the same problem with my Toshiba Satellite A70 but the strange thing is that it only freeze when I am at work and never at home. Finally I star to think it is because at work we have wireless connection.It didn’t stop to freeze at work even when I shut down the wireless on my pc. May be the reason is like others said because of the static electricity , because during the winter it more regular have that problem but not so often in the summer….

My laptop is currently with a service center in Hawaii, when I spoke to customer relations they told me that there is a class action lawsuit pending with this model #. Within the last 4 months my laptop has been in the service center 3 times. Its becoming laughable on how Toshiba runs their company. Just my 2 cents

there might be a lower level of humity at your work than at home, more humity means less static.. i had the same problem before i got the warranty to replace the top cover... at home it never locked up. but at work it locked up everytime..
